In 2007, the Junior League of Rockford, Inc. in collaboration with community partners developed and implemented the RAISE Project at Jefferson High School. The RAISE program is aimed to increase access to and success in post high school education for financially disadvantaged, underrepresented and first generation college students from the Rockford Public School System. In August 2010, JLR announced Big Brothers Big Sisters of the YMCA of the Rock River Valley as its newest primary community partner.

Inspire a high school student to go to college!
The RAISE Project is a one-on-one mentoring program. A structured, guided system provides mentors with strategies to ensure success with high school students. Junior League of Rockford is currently in its third year of this necessary community project.
